Database read and write via unescaped tag term
Published Aug 5, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
SQL injection in InstantCMS before 2.16.1-git allows remote attackers to read or write database data through crafted tag searches. The public tags autocomplete action places the unescaped term parameter directly inside a computed SQL SELECT expression. No authentication or user interaction is required, and exploitation is limited to data available through the application's database connection.
