Subscriber-level settings reset via missing capability check
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Posts Like Dislike 1.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to reset plugin settings. The AJAX-exposed restore_settings function resets configuration without checking the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access and a nonce visible to subscribers are sufficient, and the consequence is limited to unauthorized modification of plugin settings.
