CVE-2023-41841Network attack vector

Privilege escalation via web UI authorization bypass

Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Improper authorization in Fortinet FortiOS web UI 7.0.0 through 7.0.11 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.4 allows attackers to perform elevated actions. Fortinet identifies the affected locus only as the web UI and has not disclosed which authorization check or privileged action handler is incorrect. Exploitation requires an authenticated account assigned the prof-admin profile and can modify system state or interrupt service, with no vendor-reported confidentiality impact.
