CVE-2023-41838

Authenticated command injection via management CLI

Published Oct 10, 2023 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

OS command injection in affected Fortinet FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer releases allows local users to execute unauthorized commands via the CLI. The management CLI passes attacker-controlled elements to an operating-system command without neutralizing shell metacharacters; Fortinet has not disclosed the affected command or function. A low-privileged authenticated CLI session is required, and successful exploitation can alter appliance data or interrupt service without reading protected data.
