Root-file disclosure via SSH config argument
Published Nov 23, 2023 · Updated Dec 2, 2024
Arbitrary file read in Pandora FMS 700 through 773 allows local users to read root-protected files through the GoTTY web service. GoTTY passes repeated arg parameters directly to its root-run SSH client, where -F treats an attacker-supplied path as a configuration file and prints parse errors containing the file data. The service requires no authentication but listens on localhost by default; disclosed consequences include exposure of password hashes and SSH private keys.
