Root command execution via GoTTY Telnet subshell
Published Nov 23, 2023 · Updated Oct 15, 2024
Improper privilege management in Pandora FMS 700 through 773 allows local users to execute commands as root through GoTTY. The localhost GoTTY service exposes an unrestricted Telnet client whose exclamation-mark subshell runs commands with the service's root privileges. Default deployments require no GoTTY authentication, but exploitation requires local access to the Linux server and grants full host control.
