Subscriber-level notice suppression via unchecked handlers
Published Dec 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Super Socializer 7.13.54 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to suppress administrative plugin notices. Several notification-read handlers, including heateor_ss_twitcount_notification_read and heateor_ss_gdpr_notification_read, update notice state without checking user capabilities. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to mark messages as read, without reported access to their contents or broader site settings.
