Admin account takeover via malicious agent XSS
Published Nov 23, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Pandora FMS 700 through 773 allows remote attackers to hijack session cookies and access administrator accounts. The software agents registry stores attacker-controlled XML or other non-monitoring data without neutralization, and the web console renders it as script. An attacker needs network access to the console; viewing poisoned agent data executes script in an administrator's browser, exposing the session and enabling account takeover.
