Browser script execution via unescaped search input
Published Aug 6, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Reflected XSS in mooSocial mooStore 3.1.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted search link. The /search/index endpoint returns the q query value in an HTML response without neutralizing executable markup; crafted path segments in store, user-info, and FAQ routes are also reflected. A victim must follow the crafted URL, after which script runs in the victim's browser and can alter displayed content or access data available to that browser session.
