Stack-based buffer overflow in the SSL VPN plainprefs.exp endpoint in SonicWall SonicOS allows remote authenticated users to crash the firewall. SonicWall has not disclosed which input field or copy operation overruns the stack; researchers observed an assertion abort while the route processed a crafted request. An authenticated SSL VPN account and network access to the endpoint are required, and the documented consequence is appliance unavailability.
