Stored XSS via unescaped form placeholder attributes
Published Sep 29, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Stored XSS in Groundhogg Inc. HollerBox 2.3.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via form placeholders. Form input placeholder attributes render stored administrator-controlled values without attribute escaping, allowing injected markup to execute in a visitor’s browser. Administrator access is required to store the payload, and exploitation then requires another user to view the affected form.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
