Remote code execution via unbounded list parameter
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC5, AC7, and AC9 affected firmware allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted HTTP requests. The /goform/SetIpMacBind handler processes an oversized list parameter without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds in AC5 1.0RTL_V15.03.06.28, AC7 1.0_V15.03.06.44, and AC9 3.0_V15.03.06.42_multi. The network path requires no authentication or user interaction, exposing the router process to attacker-controlled memory corruption and a resulting crash or code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
