Unauthenticated HTTP service crash via stack overflow
Published Aug 30, 2023 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC9 firmware 3.0_V15.03.06.42_multi allows remote attackers to crash the router's HTTP service. The /goform/WifiExtraSet handler accepts an overlong wpapsk_crypto parameter and overwrites stack storage because the input is not adequately bounded. Network access to the router management service is sufficient, with no authentication or user interaction required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
