CVE-2023-4154Network attack vector

Domain secret disclosure via permissive DirSync authorization

Published Nov 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Information disclosure in affected Samba AD DC releases allows remote authenticated users to read all domain secrets through LDAP DirSync. Its DirSync control grants accounts with partial replication rights access to attributes that should be filtered, and its authorization check also treats errors as success. Reachability requires an AD domain controller and either an RODC or an account with GET_CHANGES; the fail-open path can also be influenced by a low-privileged attacker.
