CVE-2023-4149Network attack vector

Unauthenticated root command execution via request handling

Published Nov 21, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

OS command injection in WAGO 852-0602, 852-0603, and 852-1605 switch firmware allows remote attackers to execute commands as root. The web-based management request handler passes attacker-controlled request data to system command execution without neutralizing command syntax. No authentication or user interaction is required; firmware before 1.0.6.S0 on 852-0602 and 852-0603 and before 1.2.5.S0 on 852-1605 is affected.
