Browser script execution via unescaped subcmd parameter
Published Sep 28, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Cross-site scripting in PHPKOBO AjaxNewsTicker 1.0.5 allows remote attackers to run script in a victim's browser via the subcmd parameter. The admin index.php edit-news path returns the subcmd value without neutralizing an injected img element and its event handler. Exploitation requires a victim to open an attacker-crafted link; the demonstrated payload reads browser-accessible cookies within that victim's browser context.
