Code execution via project file double free
Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Sep 24, 2024
Double free in Kostac PLC Programming Software 1.6.11.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute code through a crafted project file. While parsing line-number information from a project file saved by 1.6.9.0 or earlier, the application frees the same memory twice. Execution requires a user to open the altered file, and successful exploitation can disclose information or run arbitrary code in the user's context.
