Reflected XSS via unescaped XML API parameters
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in CrafterCMS Engine 3.1.0 through 3.1.27 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.2 allows remote attackers to run script via API requests. XML-producing API endpoints, including /api/1/site/url/transform and content-store routes, return url or transformerName input without neutralizing it for browser rendering. Exploitation requires a user to follow an attacker-controlled request, after which script runs in that user's browser context and can read exposed page data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
