CVE-2023-41339Network attack vector

Unauthenticated SSRF via unrestricted WMS style URLs

Published Oct 24, 2023 · Updated Sep 11, 2024

Server-side request forgery in GeoServer before 2.22.5 and 2.23.0 through 2.23.1 allows remote attackers to trigger outbound requests. The WMS GetMap, GetLegendGraphic, and GetFeatureInfo handlers fetch an untrusted sld URL without restricting its destination. Dynamic styling must be enabled while URL checks are disabled or permit file URLs, allowing NetNTLMv2 hash disclosure for relay or offline cracking.
