Unauthorized entity selection via ignored query constraints
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Improper input validation in Symfony UX Autocomplete before 2.11.2 allows remote attackers to submit disallowed EntityType record IDs. AutocompleteEntityTypeSubscriber rebuilds its pre-submit lookup from the entity repository instead of applying the configured query_builder, so an ID excluded from valid choices is loaded and accepted. Exposure requires both an autocomplete-enabled EntityType and a custom query_builder that limits valid results; successful submission can select a record the application intended to exclude.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
