CVE-2023-41259Network attack vector

Information disclosure via trusted attacker-supplied email headers

Published Nov 3, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Information disclosure in Best Practical Request Tracker before 4.4.7 and 5.x before 5.0.5 allows remote attackers to expose ticket data. RT::Interface::Email::Gateway trusts attacker-supplied RT-Send-Cc, RT-Send-Bcc, and other internal RT headers instead of deleting them before processing. An attacker must be able to submit an email message or reach the unauthenticated mail-gateway REST endpoint, after which forged headers can route protected correspondence to attacker-chosen recipients.
