Code execution via unvalidated radio-button object reuse
Published Nov 27, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Type confusion in Foxit PDF Reader 12.1.3.15356 allows remote attackers to execute code through JavaScript in a crafted PDF. The Radio Button field value setter reuses an object reset during a Calculate callback and later accesses it without validating its new type. Exploitation requires opening the PDF, or visiting a malicious site when the browser plugin is enabled, and runs code in the reader process.
