CVE-2023-41254

Sensitive data disclosure via unredacted log entries

Published Oct 25, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

A privacy issue in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17.1 allows local users to access sensitive user data via application log entries. The logging subsystem fails to redact private data before writing log records, allowing an installed app that can read those records to obtain information intended to remain private. Access requires a local app with log-reading capability; the documented impact is confidentiality loss, with no reported integrity or availability effect.
