Root code execution via StaticPrefixLength command injection
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DAP-1325 firmware 1.07b01 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to execute code as root. The HNAP1 SetHostIPv6StaticSettings handler passes the user-supplied StaticPrefixLength string to a system call without proper validation. Exploitation requires network-adjacent access but no authentication, and successful commands run with the device's root privileges.
