Unauthenticated root code execution via StaticDNS1 injection
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DAP-1325 1.07b01 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The HNAP1 SetHostIPv6StaticSettings handler passes an unvalidated StaticDNS1 request value into a system call, enabling command injection. The attacker must reach the extender from an adjacent network, but authentication and user interaction are unnecessary; exploitation grants root-level command execution and control of the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
