CVE-2023-41193

Root code execution via SecondaryDNS command injection

Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Command injection in D-Link DAP-1325 firmware 1.07b01 and earlier allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The HNAP1 SOAP SetAPLanSettings handler passes the user-supplied SecondaryDNS request value to a system call without proper validation. No authentication is required, but the attacker must be able to reach the device from an adjacent network.
