Root code execution via PrimaryDNS command injection
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link DAP-1325 firmware 1.07b01 and earlier allows attackers to execute code as root via an adjacent network. The HNAP1 SOAP SetAPLanSettings handler uses the unvalidated PrimaryDNS request value in a system call, causing supplied command text to execute. No authentication or user interaction is required, but the attacker must be adjacent to the device's network; successful execution has root privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
