Reflected XSS via unencoded course filters
Published Aug 3, 2023 · Updated Oct 11, 2024
Reflected XSS in Academy LMS 6.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in a user’s browser through a crafted courses-page URL. The /academy/home/courses response reflects the query and sort_by GET parameters without adequate output encoding, allowing an image error-handler payload to execute. Exploitation requires a user to follow the crafted link and allows script execution in the Academy LMS origin, including content manipulation or session-token theft.
