CVE-2023-41180Network attack vector

HTTPS data tampering via inverted peer verification

Published Sep 3, 2023 · Updated Sep 27, 2024

Improper certificate validation in Apache NiFi MiNiFi C++ 0.13.0 through 0.14.0 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to alter HTTPS data. InvokeHTTP interprets its Disable Peer Verification property backward, so the default false value disables TLS certificate verification during HTTPS requests. An attacker positioned between the agent and an HTTPS endpoint can present a forged certificate and modify data exchanged by the processor.
