Stored script execution via unsanitized key comments
Published Sep 7, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Stored XSS in Webmin Usermin 2.000 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via a key comment. The secret-key creation workflow stores the crafted comment without neutralizing script or HTML, then renders it on public-key details, export, signing, and key-server pages. A user must create a secret key with a crafted comment, and script execution requires another user to open an affected key-management page.
