Stored script execution via mail filter folder name
Published Sep 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Stored XSS in Usermin 2.001 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary web script in another user's browser via a mail filter. The filter workflow stores the attacker-controlled save-to-new-folder name and later renders it as active HTML or script on the Mail Forwarding page. Exploitation requires a valid low-privilege account and a user to open the affected page; the documented impact is limited to browser-session confidentiality and integrity.
