Stored XSS via rendered SSH host options
Published Aug 29, 2023 · Updated Oct 2, 2024
Stored XSS in Webmin Usermin 2.001 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through SSH host options. The SSH configuration interface stores an attacker-supplied script in the Options for host value and executes it when the affected page renders. A Usermin account able to edit host options is required, and exploitation depends on another user viewing the stored configuration page; the script then runs in that viewer's browser context.
