CVE-2023-41138

Elevated command execution via privileged helper

Published Nov 9, 2023 · Updated Sep 4, 2024

Privilege management flaw in AppsAnywhere Client 1.4.0, 1.4.1, 1.5.1, 1.5.2, 1.6.0, and 2.0.0 allows local users to run elevated commands. On macOS, a local user process can trick the client's privileged helper into executing arbitrary commands instead of enforcing its intended privilege boundary. Exploitation requires local access and high privileges; the vendor has not disclosed the helper interface or triggering input.
