Unwanted privileged actions via forged requests
Published Oct 12, 2023 · Updated Apr 28, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Spotify Play Button for WordPress 2.10 and earlier allows remote attackers to force unwanted actions. The public advisory does not identify the affected request handler or the state-changing operation that accepts a forged request. Exploitation requires a privileged user with an active WordPress session to visit a crafted page, click a malicious link, or submit a form; the resulting action runs with that user's authority.
