CVE-2023-41111Network attack vector

Phone crash via inconsistent RLC length handling

Published Nov 8, 2023 · Updated Sep 17, 2024

Denial of service in Samsung Exynos processors and modems allows attackers to terminate a mobile phone through inconsistent RLC lengths. The RLC task and RLC module fail to reconcile conflicting length parameters, causing abnormal termination instead of safely rejecting the input. The flaw is network-reachable without user interaction, although published assessments disagree on whether prior privileges are required; exploitation crashes the phone.
