CVE-2023-41095

Network credential extraction via unencrypted flash storage

Published Oct 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024

Cleartext key storage in Silicon Labs OpenThread SDK 2.3.1 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to extract or modify network credentials. The SecureVault High integration writes Thread network credentials to flash without encrypting them. Physical access to a 32-bit ARM device is required, and exposure is limited to stored network credentials.
