CVE-2023-4108Network attack vector

Permalink content disclosure via unsanitized audit metadata

Published Aug 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024

Sensitive information exposure in Mattermost 7.10.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read permalink contents from audit logs. The audit logger serializes unsanitized post metadata, including resolved permalink content, into audit records instead of removing that content. Access requires high-privileged credentials, user interaction, and visibility into configured audit-log outputs; the disclosed consequence is exposure of logged post content.
