Authentication bypass in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17 allows physically proximate attackers to authenticate through Face ID using a 3D model. Face ID anti-spoofing models accept a three-dimensional likeness of the enrolled user's face as a valid biometric match. Physical possession of a Face ID-capable device and a model resembling its enrolled user are required, enabling access protected by successful Face ID authentication.
