CVE-2023-41060Network attack vector

Kernel code execution via type confusion

Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Kernel type confusion in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17 and macOS before 14 allows remote authenticated users to execute kernel code. The Kernel accesses a resource using an incompatible type because its type checks do not reject the invalid state. Apple has not disclosed the remotely reachable input path or protocol; successful triggering grants execution in the kernel context.
