Restricted key disclosure via missing SORT_RO key count
Published Sep 6, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Improper access control in Redis 7.0.0 through 7.0.12 and 7.1.0 through 7.2.0 allows local users to read restricted keys. The sortROGetKeys function populates the command key-result array but fails to set result->numkeys, causing ACL evaluation to treat SORT_RO as accessing no keys. Exploitation requires an authenticated ACL user allowed to run SORT_RO but denied the target key, and the consequence is limited to data readable through that command.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
