Unauthenticated code execution via decoded query commands
Published Sep 14, 2023 · Updated Sep 25, 2024
Command injection in China Mobile Intelligent Home Gateway HG6543C4 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through shortcut_telnet.cgi. The CGI decodes the raw query string into CMD, writes that value into a temporary shell script, marks the file executable, and runs it. No authentication or user interaction is required; a reachable gateway therefore exposes command execution with the web service's privileges.
