Authenticated script execution via unsanitized file mask
Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflected XSS in Webmin 2.100 File Manager allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the file-mask search field. The completed-search response reflects the submitted file-mask value as active content, causing the browser to interpret the payload as script. Exploitation requires access to the administrative interface and File Manager, and the script executes with the affected Webmin browser session's privileges.
