Browser script execution via reflected search result
Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Reflected XSS in Webmin 2.100 File Manager allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser through a crafted search result. The reproduction procedure stores an XSS payload as a cloned module name and later renders it unsafely in the Usermin Configuration module list; this conflicts with the CVE's File Manager description. Exploitation requires a user to open the affected interface, and successful script execution is confined to that user's Webmin browser session.
