Unauthenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Sep 1, 2023 · Updated Sep 30, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in DWSurvey-OSS 3.2.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code without authentication. UploadAction.java saveimage and saveFile accept attacker-supplied filenames and content types without enforcing a safe extension, then store the file beneath web-accessible /file paths. An unauthenticated HTTP request can place a server-executable file in those paths, enabling code execution in the application server context.
