Database record modification via second-order SQL injection
Published Sep 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 26, 2024
Second-order SQL injection in Schoolmate 1.3 allows remote attackers to modify database records through a crafted school name. The header.php update path stores the submitted schoolname after HTML encoding, then later embeds the retrieved value directly in an UPDATE statement without SQL parameterization. Network access is sufficient under NVD's unauthenticated assessment, and a crafted stored value can broaden the UPDATE to alter every schoolinfo row.
