Administrator SQL injection via unsanitized banner ID
Published Sep 19, 2023 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
SQL injection in Nagios XI 5.11.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary SQL through banner settings. The update_banner_message_settings action in /nagiosxi/admin/banner_message-ajaxhelper.php concatenates the client-controlled id parameter into a database query without sanitization. Administrator privileges are required, and successful exploitation can expose or alter database records, including password hashes and API tokens.
