Unauthenticated memory corruption via unbounded mac input
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda AC8 v4.0 firmware 16.03.34.06 allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through crafted mac input. The /goform/GetParentControlInfo handler places the untrusted mac value into a stack buffer without an adequate length boundary; the precise copy operation and buffer size are not public. No authentication or user interaction is required, and memory corruption can crash the router; reliable code execution has not been publicly demonstrated.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
