CVE-2023-4089Network attack vector

Administrative file access via undocumented web-server path

Published Oct 17, 2023 · Updated Feb 27, 2025

Local file inclusion in WAGO controllers and panels running affected firmware allows remote authenticated administrators to read sensitive files. CERT@VDE identifies the device web server as the locus but does not disclose the endpoint or how a supplied file reference reaches the local filesystem. Exploitation requires administrative privileges and grants no new file permissions, but the access appears in a different log than expected.
