Stored script execution via unfiltered vote fields
Published Aug 24, 2023 · Updated Oct 3, 2024
Stored XSS in DedeCMS 5.7.110 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser via edited vote data. The vote_edit.php saveedit branch inserts votename and votenote directly into the vote table and generated JavaScript without filtering, and vote.php later renders both values. Access to the vote-editing interface and a later visit to the affected vote are required, allowing the stored payload to read browser-accessible data or alter page content in the victim's session.
