CVE-2023-40815Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Client-side content injection via stored category names

Published Nov 18, 2023 · Updated Aug 28, 2024

Cross-site scripting in openCRX 5.2.0 allows remote attackers to inject HTML through the category-creation name field. The application stores a crafted category name and renders it as markup after the category is saved instead of neutralizing the field for web output. The demonstrated path uses a guest login, and another user must view the saved content for client-side impact.
